Tribute to Leo the Doberman

Tribute to Leo the Doberman

Leo Arrives Home

Leo was born in the Netherlands and his father was from Germany. After Leo was weaned from his mother, he was sold to an American doctor. Leo arrived in America as a young and happy puppy. Leo was loved and spoiled as a loyal house pet. Leo even went to obedience training where he passed with flying colors. Unfortunately soon after, the doctor discovered their newborn baby was allergic to Leo. So Leo was sold. Leo was sold to a man that owned a kennel for guard dogs. Leo was kept outside in a kennel and became very sad and lonely. While living in the outdoor kennel, Leo became very sick with all types of worms. Lucky for me and Leo, my husband and a friend found him. At eleven months old, we brought Leo from the guard dog kennel. We brought Leo home, into our loving family, and nursed him back to health. He was once again a happy and spoiled house dog. Leo was the best dog in the world. He never begged for food, and he never went on our furniture. Leo had many wonderful qualities, and we felt very lucky to have him in our lives. We have not, nor will ever get another dog, because no dog could ever replace Leo in our hearts. Leo’s death was, and remains a very emotional tragedy for us.
