Leo the Doberman

Leo Loved Balloons
Leo the Doberman

One day for Leo’s birthday we gave him a bouquet of helium balloons. Unfortunately I think it ended up being one of Leo’s saddest days. Leo took his bouquet of balloons outside, through his doggie door, and ran around the yard with them in his mouth. Yes, he took them through his doggie door while still carrying them in his mouth.

Leo was remarkable. The picture of Leo with his birthday bouquet of balloons is on this web site. Soon after that picture was taken, Leo laid down with his balloons to play with them, and talk to them. When he rolled on his back smiling at his balloons, the bouquet of balloons slipped loose from his mouth. Leo then jumped up and ran after his bouquet of balloons barking at them to come back. Sadly, away they sailed up to the sky. It was a very sad thing to watch Leo running after his balloons and barking pitifully. So after that day we found a new type of balloon to give Leo. We gave him the big striped colored punching balloon from Kmart. Leo loved them so much that my husband had to blow them up in the bathroom because Leo would get so excited as soon as he saw the balloon. These were very big balloons and they took quite a long time to blow up. Leo would be outside the bathroom door barking and wagging his tail in anticipation of getting his balloon.

Once the balloon was given to him, he had a wonderful time. Leo would run everywhere. He ran inside and outside the house with his balloon in his mouth. It was wonderful to see such a happy dog.
