German Rottweiler

The German Rottweiler is a very powerful deep chested and muscular looking dog with dark eyes short black hair and tan markings on its muzzle, cheeks, legs, chest, under its tail and above its eyes. The Rottie stands anywhere from 22 to 27 inches at the shoulder and weighs in at 70 to 130 lbs. with a tail typically docked at the first joint.

The Rottweiler was developed in the small village of Rottweil in southern Germany. According to historians they are descendants of the camp dogs that followed the Roman legions during their conquest of southern Europe some 1900 years ago.

The Rottweiler requires moderate exercise to reduce boredom and potentially destructive behavior. The Rottie is generally a calm, intellegent and quick learning dog. With proper socialization and training the Rottie makes an obedient, loving and very affectionate family pet...But intruders beware.
